On 6 and 7 November 2010 the Fall 2010 Green Festival returned to San Francisco, California. A joint project of Green America and Global Exchange, the Green Festival builds a localized ecosystem of sustainable commerce, teaching, sharing and entertainment. I was a photography media volunteer again this year (see 2009 Green Festival). Good photo subjects were plentiful at the Concourse Exhibition Center, and this blog entry presents a cross section in images of the festival (see the full set of photos or a slide show for a more complete picture).

Delectable treats are core to the Green Festival experience. Within the Organic Food area, nontraditional foods dominate, with many creative vegetarian and vegan offerings. Extending the domain of the vegetarian hot dog, Gourmet Faire put the spotlight on their vegan corn dogs.
Amongst the numerous samplings of chocolate and coffee, attendees shopped for a variety of healthful goodies, including artfully presented bulk herbs at the rustic country booth of Mountain Rose Herbs.
The reach of the Green Festival was expanded with a live broadcast on Saturday afternoon by KALW 91.7FM, a San Francisco public radio station with an emphasis on local. Rose Aguilar and Malihe Razazan of Your Call interviewed several Green Festival presenters, including Kevin Danaher, a founder of Global Exchange and Green Festival.
With over 300 exhibitors and 125 speakers under one roof, festival attendees partook from an abundance of quality content. The main exhibit area abounded with colorful exhibitors and tasty samples.
Hi-DEF Creations, fashion consultant to the Green Festival, presented two high-energy Eco-Fashion Shows that modeled the finest wares of several green designers. The Sunday 7 Nov 2010 show included kids fashion, after-5 wear and green wedding fashion. The hand-colored long dress is from iman B., a local Sausalito, California designer. The explosion of creative energy of the fashion show was a fitting coda to the Green Festival weekend.
